This policy explains what EasyPark collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information you provide
When you submit a parking update, EasyPark collects the selected parking location, availability status, permit or space type, note, optional display name, submission time, and optional photo.
Reports, names, notes, and photos are intended for public display. Do not include private information, faces, or readable license plates.
Information collected automatically
The hosting provider may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, browser type, device information, request time, and security logs. EasyPark stores your theme preference in your browser and, if accepted, an essential cookie recording that you saw the cookie notice.
How information is used
- Display current and recent parking reports.
- Show community photos and calculate leaderboard scores.
- Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service.
- Prevent abuse and respond to legal obligations.
Parking availability comes only from reports submitted by users. EasyPark does not scrape or access UT Dallas parking systems for live availability data.
How information is shared
Submitted contributions are shared publicly as described above. Information may also be processed by infrastructure providers that host the website, database, and photo storage, or disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, protect users, or secure the service.
EasyPark does not sell personal information and does not use it for targeted advertising.
Retention
Reports and photos are retained for as long as they are useful to operate the community service, resolve abuse, or meet legal and security needs. An availability report stops counting as current after one hour, but older contributions may remain visible in the community feed or leaderboard.
Your choices and applicable privacy law
You may omit your name, note, and photo. You can control local storage through your browser and revisit the Cookie Policy. Depending on where you live and whether a privacy law applies, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information, and to appeal a denied request.
EasyPark does not sell personal data or use it for targeted advertising. Requests under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act or other applicable federal, state, or local law can be sent to harshath.mylswamy27@gmail.com with enough information to identify the relevant contribution.
Children
EasyPark is intended for a university community and is not directed to children under 13. Do not submit information about a child.
Security and changes
Reasonable safeguards are used to protect stored information, but no online service can guarantee absolute security. This policy may change as the service changes; the updated date above identifies the current version.
